We also accept employer-provided or private plans like Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Delta Dental, Guardian, and United Healthcare. Does Porter Dental accept Medicaid?
Yes! We accept Medicaid, State Children's Health Insurance Programs (SCHIP), and United Concordia's Tricare.
How should I prepare for my appointment?
Bring your up-to-date insurance card and photo ID, as well as the date of birth, and phone number of each patient who has an appointment that day.
How do I help my child if they’re nervous about their visit?
Make sure that you express a positive attitude about the dentist to your child. If you are nervous or negative, they will be too. It’s also good to explain to your child what they can expect. Many children are more at ease after watching videos or reading books about going to the dentist. Your child is welcome to bring a small toy or stuffed animal to hold during their visit, and parents and guardians can stay in the exam room with their child during a visit.
What will my child’s visit include?
Your child’s visit will most likely include a cleaning, checkup, x-rays, and instructions for ongoing care. If further treatment is needed, the dentist will discuss it with you before proceeding. Talk to a member of our staff if you have specific questions about your child’s treatment plan.
Is a child’s visit different than an adult visit?
Generally, your child’s visit will be much like your own. Our staff will take extra time to help guide your child through their visit to put them at ease, and to make sure that both you and your child understand instructions for ongoing care.
How much will my visit cost??
Your out-of-pocket costs will depend on the services you receive and on your insurance coverage. Contact our office for a more detailed estimate.
What will I do during my child’s appointment?
Parents have the option of staying in the exam room with their children or waiting in the reception area. Many parents prefer to stay with their children.
Is Porter Dental accepting new patients?
Yes! We look forward to welcoming you soon.
I’m afraid that I can’t afford treatment. What should I do?
If you’re uninsured or unsure of your ability to afford treatment, contact our reception staff to discuss your payment options.
